Installation of facade elements made of reinforced polystyrene has a number of features, and consists of three stages:
The surface on which decorative items are mounted must be well prepared and have sufficient load-bearing capacity, free of dust, dirt, efflorescence, mold and other contaminants that reduce adhesion. In case of significant irregularities, the walls are plastered and (or) processed with facade putty. The substrate must be dry and protected from moisture. Apply the primer with quartz filler for dust removal on a work surface and increase adhesion, for example, a latex primer “Ukrepit”. It is recommended to install decorative elements before the finishing of the facade and its coloring.
For installation of decorative elements you previously mark up the lower bound, then adjust the length of the wall to the configuration. Trimming of the ends of the elements for joining is performed using the miter box or miter saw. For application of the adhesive compound for bonding elements we use special adhesive, designed for polystyrene boards installation for thermal insulation of facades using the "wet method", for example, the adhesive “Ukrepit". The adhesive compound is applied to the toothed spatula in the vertical direction on the base and on the back side of the decorative element. Then facade element is mounted on the wall according to the markings. To avoid falling into the glue mixture, the element must be applied at a distance of 1-1.5 cm from marking and then moved into its position. Excesses of glue mixture are removed with a short and stiff bristles brush. Mechanical fastening of decorative elements. Mechanical attachment of parts is carried out if a detail is more than 130-150mm. One day after the installation of decorative elements or 2 days after if the temperature is below + 10 ° C, facade mechanical fixing is carried out by special anchors - 2 pcs per 1 running meter. Using a knife "on a cone" cut 70-80 mm coating, so that the residual thickness of the polystyrene was not less than 1.5-2 cm. Dowel sets to a depth of 50 mm at the base of the brick and 90 mm of concrete or other base material. Holes top with cut-before-cones. Then places of the dowels installation are plastered.
For connections between the components (joints assembly) grouting is applied, such as, for example, acrylic "Ukrepit". The gap of 2-3 mm between the parts is filled with grout completely. After grout drying the excess is removed and the place on top of the docking is “embroidered” with restorative blend. All the parts are primed before painting with facade primers, for example, latex primer “Ukrepit”.
To the site products are already supplied with a reinforcing coating.
If necessity of additional painting, coating is made of acrylic or silicate based facade paints. If architectural elements depart from the base of more than 100-120 mm, it is necessary to set the tide of galvanized sheet steel or other metal. Ebb for large facade parts must have its own supporting structure, and not rely on architectural element in order to avoid damage to the decor caused by significant snow load.
