Stages of manufacture (DECOgraphy)

The production of high-quality concrete surfaces with DECOtechnology is possible with close cooperation with the customer developed at EcoDeco at every stage of developing its individual solution.

Define several basic steps in the manner of working with the canvas DECOgraphy:

  1. The designer of the company EcoDeco chooses a drawing from a pre-selected collection or creates a unique pattern according to the technical task of the customer. The image is prepared according to the specified technical requirements and, if necessary, is mirrored.

  2. The pattern is applied to the paper using a printer, then a moderator of the setting of concrete is applied by a similar method. Then, the thus obtained web passes further finishing according to the technology.

  3. The finished product of DECOgraphy technology is a canvas for applying images to the surface of concrete, it is delivered to the customer and is placed by the manufacturer of concrete products in the formwork. There are several important features that should be observed when using the canvas for the direct purpose, namely:

    • The production of the final concrete product begins with the cleaning of the form and formwork. The surface must be flat and clean. Minor unevenness on the surface of the formwork is imprinted on the surface of the concrete product. Pollution and foreign particles between the formwork surface and the canvas will be visible on concrete.
    • It is necessary to spread a piece of canvas equal to or larger than the area of the created plate on the pouring table. The canvas should be placed on the bottom of the finished formwork. On the reverse side of the web there is an adhesive material, which allows you to fix the canvas on the base of the casting mold. Cloth should be pressed firmly against the surface of the pouring table. Between the cloth and the surface of the table should be as little air as possible. Next, you should set the edges of the formwork on the canvas and attach them to the pouring table.

  4. Further, the concrete mixture is poured into the formwork over the canvas. It should be borne in mind that one of the key parameters for the manufacture of the product is the filler and its fraction: the smaller the fraction, the clearer the image will be. Likewise, pigments for coloring cement can be retarders of setting. It is not recommended to use more dye than indicated in the instructions. Otherwise, the image will be with torn edges or not at all. To compact the concrete mass, you can use a slight vibration for a long time.

  5. After 24 hours, after the mixture has solidified, the web is removed from the surface of the concrete. A positive aspect is the fact that when removing the web, the adhesive layer leaves no traces on the bottom of the pouring table.

  6. Then the surface of the finished product is washed with a high-pressure jet. The resulting concrete product is already a finished product and does not need additional processing with varnishes or paints.

  7. As a result, the customer receives a ready-made concrete product with a pattern applied using DECOgraphy. The result of using this technology is the pattern, the contrast between the exposed filler (or the inner layers of the base material) and the smooth surface of the concrete. By varying the color of the aggregate or cement, a wide variation of the final results can be achieved.
